alrighty, i read the forums a lot and this is my first post. i tried ripping and burning geisha. i used the above software and it worked fine. ripped with DVD Shrink with no problem with AnyDVD in the background, and Nero to burn. now my problem occurs. it skips on my main dvd player, doesn't even play anymore on my ps2 (then again, most of my other copied dvds dont), but for some reason, plays fine on my computers and portable dvd player. what could the problem be?

the dvd media, clearly. lower the burning speed. I'm going to assume your ps2 is old (and even if it isn't, the laser is picky) then i'm going to assume your main dvd player is old too.

the computer dvd drive has a stronger laser for better media recognition. and i'm going to assume your portable dvd player is new. the end.

lower the burning speed. get different dvd writables.

well just burnt geisha and tested it out, and it loaded fine and such, but the odd thing is i burnt syranna at max which is working fine (my dad is watching it) ironiclly i just tried geisha on my ps2 which didnt work. o well whatever

good rule of thumb for burning speeds is half of what it says on the media, and cheap media is often crap, like memorex to name one maybe try Verbatim or sony which usually can get on sale.

TDK are just as bad as Memorex and should be avoided....I would also avoid anything that Circuit City sells as far as media goes. Best Buy, Office Max, Walmart have a better selection of quality media than Circuit City does. You usually can't go wrong with Made in Japan media, be leary of media Made in Taiwan with the exception of Verbatim.
