Does anyone know if on the PS3 you can use old PS2 controllers (or even PS1 controllers)???
I understand that the new PS3 controllers are motion sensitive and everything, but for some games on PS2 you could still use PS1 controllers.
It was only such games as shoot-em-ups that required the pressure sensitivity of the PS2 controller, or the direction specific aim of the analog sticks (as in Fight Night) that you couldn't use PS1 controllers.
Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, but I searched the forum and couldn't find anything.

the ps3 has 4 USB ports. it will not feature the 'plug' (don't know what they call it) that was used to connect controllers to your previous playstations, so as of now the answer is no. there has been talk about a USB adapter to connect your ps2 controller to the ps3, but nothing official. ps3 controllers are also going to be wireless (bluetooth

not too bad of a loss, HADE do you like the fact that the controllers will be much lighter ? kinda of trivial question but id like it to be as light as possible without comprosing durability but thats just me. 360's wireless controller isa tanker but i still love it...its a damn 5lb weight

not too sure on that one, only because i havent used the new controller yet. its nice that it will be lighter, but it better not feel cheap. i've never had a problem with ANY of my playstation controllers. i should say i only had a total of four controllers(two for each system ps/ps2). i also dont really get mad and throw things around like i've seen some people, so my stuff tends to last longer...i've heard some people refer the xbox controllers to the 'brick'

I think it'd be reasonable to use the old controllers for some games that don't require the tilt feature. I always used my PS1 controllers for FIFA on PS2 when my mates would come over. Loved being able to use the multi-tap and have 8-player games....
But say, Medal of Honour, if we wanted to play 4-player with the multi-tap, all four controllers had to be the pressure sensitive black ones.
So maybe some games (like FIFA) could be able to still use older version controllers.

hell yeah, ive thron one so hard the trigger buttons were almost popped out, and the were 2x the normal distance out than they narmally are. but i snapped them back in and it still siprisingly worked. i dont think ive had an official controller fail me, but the pelican ones did.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

That would not work HADE because i want to take it out on the game not the foam. But my wall end up being the victim because if i hurt the PS2 i hurt myself.

maybe you all need to play in the psych ward in those padded rooms if you're all so violent.

i hope the ps3 comes with 2 controllers aswell cos it was annoying having to fork out another £20 for a second controller (and that was after spending £20 on a memory card) cos the ps2 didn't come with those. the ps3 controller looks good anyway so i wouldnt be bothered if my ps2 controller didnt work with it
