sony said in a press release that ps3 could run linux, windows and macosx
how can this even be possible though i know that wine can rune windows programs but can it run Mac osx
currently have these consoles

Yes maybe I dunno.But it will have to have permission from ms and apple which it highly unlikely.Of coarse there is wine but even that's a bit sketchy at this point.

I heard somewhere that PS3 was going to ship with Linux on the hard drive

no its not, they said linux will not be shipped on the hdd, but rather internal flash mem.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

I really think they should have tried to get Mac OSX running on it, for obvious reasons. But what they could do is make it capable hardware wise to run them, so that a 3rd party or a dev could modify the boot discs to install it. that way they wouldnt have to pay anything and yet it would still be possible.

Just coz both Microsofts compitition united against them. I read a good post, I think it was here, about why it would be good ill try and find the post.

a pack is available which enables you to run linux on the ps2 but it wouldn't be the full package. i think it would be cool if the ps3 could run the full package but i'd prefer the windows version. the internet on the ps2 was a bit dissapointing and the psp browser is much better but can, at times still be a bit slow and annoying so lets just hope that the ps3 produces a really good internet browser and i think this could easily be done if it could run windows

did you see the psp web broswer thread here and find the video of it all? its so much better than anything ive seen from the ps line and even well dominating the 360's interface.

so i guess its unstoppable for sony to incorperate DNAS with this so called open source ps3 linux
DNAS + PS3 = NO WINDOWS

they only do dnas for connecting to gaming servers if i do believe, not for connecting to anything else.

when you update the dnas logo pops up

to make sure the update is sent to a real ps3 and not cheated thru a pc for firmware hacking. but it gets done any way. if u dont update, does the psp web browser say anything of dnas?

yeah i saw the vid of the browser.... it looks like the psp sort of layout which i think is good. It wasn't finished when they had shown it on the video and it looked really good so i'm thinking that sony have a actually come up with a decent browser now. Much better than the 360 and thats made by microsoft! you would think that microsoft would have the upper hand with stuff like web browsers since they have been working with pcs for so long

but their pc's are ugly in interface aswell, you should have known this. look at osx for mac, it was pretty in 2001 and xp was barely released before it. and just look at it now.
