Nobody that I would trust. Word on the street is stores like eb games will start taking preorders towards the end of September

I have ordered from them before, they are a reputatble source. Also toysrus are taking preorders, but you have to go into the store and cannot preorder online.

Anybody want to buy passcard 3s? I have a bunch I imported. I can beat any price on the internet (must include shipping). Right now the lowest price I have seen is $35 shipped so I can do $33. Will be probably be about a month before you get it.

As far as pre-orders I personally would NOT buy from them.Not only have they been sued by all the console makers but they are based in asia and may not play the u.s. games due to regional encoding.
The thread title is about u.s. preorders not asian preorders.I don't think they are a scam I'm just saying....

He said he "heard" they were a scam. I want to know where he "heard" that from because they have always been great to me. Simple as that.

So what if he heard they were a scam? Look at the name of the site.He has every right to be suspicious.I wasn't answering for him, this is a forum that's what people do.The topic is preorders in the u.s..

i reserverd at F.Y.E. and they never mentioned that part, but even if they make everyone buy 3 games with the system its not too bad. madden and resitance are definate buys for myself, not sure what other game i would get right away. im still holding off till they finally release the official launch lineup along with the price of games.

Ok Look I'm just trying to get 2 PS3 one for my younger bro and one for my Bf for christmas. I see all the places you can "pre-order from" but I was told by gamestop in my town that they can not preorder because of the Xbox problems which I had first hand experience with. i ordered an xbox, was suppose to be on 1st shipment got bumped to 2nd 3 rd and so on until I just got my money back. So aside form all the places you all listed on here I need a place who will for sure produce the systems when they say they will. Toys r us is right by my place are they pretty good about getting you what you order when they say??

thanks for the info. I just called them now and they said they will be taking preorders here in my now in the next month or so. and I heard from gamestop here who said they are not taking preorders but they said teh system is $600 don't know how true that is but that is what they told me. thanks again

Your best bet is to find a store that is not taking preorders.
Most gamestops and ebgames are not taking preorders until late september or early october. Find one that isn't doing a call list, preferably one in the suburbs, not a big city. You should have no trouble getting one.
Companies like Fye took preorders but only got around 5 xbox 360s last year. Most suburb gamestops and ebgames got around 25 xbox 360s and will probably get around 15 ps3s. If they don't do call lists, it takes them a couple weeks to fill the preorder lists.
This is just a best guess. I was trying to get some data from people to confirm these numbers but I didn't get enough responses for anything conclusive in my "how quickly do preorders fill" thread.
One thing though. If you went from 1 to 31 then someone is either taking bribes at that store or doing favors to bump people up the list. Get your name off the list and get your money back now.

well the best buy told me they are stocking them on the 17th so if I just go before they open and wait then I might have a chance of getting one.. anyone had lick getting anything that way?? Damn I'll just tell them both they can wait til beginning of next year when they are easier to get and teh price drops lol.

There are two models one is $499 and one is $599.I would get the $599 it has lot's more to offer. $100 more sounds like alot but it includes much more.
