I'd appreciate some feedback from the future PS3 owners in these forums. If you are planning to own a PS3 in the future:
(1) Do you own an HDTV?
(2) If you do not own an HDTV - do you plan on owning one after your PS3 purchase?
(3) Do you plan to use your PS3 to watch BluRay movies?
(4) If you do plan to watch BluRay - do you intend to buy the movies or rent them?
(5) If you also own a PS2 do you use that console to watch DVD's or do you use a separate DVD player?
Thanks for your answers.

1. Yes. Upgrading my 40" Sammy DLP 720p to a 60" Sony SXRD 1080p - delivery date 7-21-06.
2. -NA-
3. It depends. I'll be looking out for reviews (are you listening dblbogey7?) on the PS3 as a BD player. If the PS3's software decoder works as well or better than the Sony or Pioneer's Sigma chip decoder then yes. If the hardware decoder is better then I will get a standalone - maybe the Sony.
4. Both.
5. No. I have a Denon upconverter.

1) No
2) Hopefully before it
3) Ehh maybe
4) This goes with 3, basically I will rent one to see if it looks "so good" if not, or I don't notice, I'll stick to DVD.
5) I use the separate player b/c PS2 is the worst DVD player I own, the screen goes dark-to-light all the time and the skip/forward functions are slow. Also, I'm sick of the parental lockout bs (and my ps2(s) are MODDED!) Its not a very good DVD player and its not the first one I owned either. Stand alone all the way!
I cover my bases...
1)Xbox w/xecuter 2.6 solderless
2)Ps2 (slim) w/DMS4 Lite
3)Ps2 V7 w/DMS4 Lite and 200 Gig Maxtor HDD
4)GC w/qoob pro

2) yes, I have picked out the TV i want too...Westinghouse 47inch LCD Monitor 1080p. Hopefully it will be lower than 2 grand by October (getting it for my bday) I may have to settle for the 42inch, we'll see.
3)Yes
4)I plan to have a BR burner by 2007, but most likely just rent them
5)I have a separate DVD player because my PS2 is modded and for some reason it's a pain in the ass to watch dvds
