I think your correct skater.It will surely grow over time but at release date that is a very safe range.Maybe even a little lower.But once developers get a handle on the bluray disc space it will get larger.Good question by the way, that hasn't been asked before.

no thats wrong
more space will make the developers feel overconfident more than likely at first so i would say about 8 to 15 gb
but exclusive titles will more than likely be massive in my opinion
currently have these consoles
Gamecube
Xbox
Ps2
Dreamcast
Phantom
Gba
psp

I also think exclusive titles will be massive.
But why do you say it's wrong? Most games now are 3gb-4gb.
Why would it make the developers overconfident?
Historically the developers dubbed down games due to space requirements and gave them lower res textures. So as to come to a lower file size but since they don't have to do that anymore I think it would make alot less work on the dev part.

the games will hold quite a bit, not sure exactly how much space, but take this for example, insomniac games who are behind resitance: fall of man have said they are making one worldwide disc that will have every country's version of the game on disc. the extra storage allows them to have more audio assets like more soldier dialogue and overall higher quality audio. it also saves them money....you will be able to play the US version in Japenese if you so choose...

well Blu-ray disc can hold up to 50g double layer 25g each so ps3 game should bout 10-15g because of the graphics and its more 3d now the details on the game has gotten better and the game also need ps3's system to get to the top qualities, for eg final fantasy everyone know its come in 3-4 disc of cd on ps1 and then for ps2 it comes in 2 disc(FFX)why not one disc 700mb x 3/4 = 2100mb/2800mb on one dvd, why 2 dvd disc then, dvd can hold up to 4.7g minumum why 2? because of the game play it gotten bigger, more mission etc.
and now ff13 come in 1 Blu-ray disc(50g space of the disc)and the game would probably be bout 15-20g,(there r still plenty of space in the disc) and other games call of duty has 2 versions now they r trying to make the 3rd version call of duty 3 the game suold be 5-10g cause its kinda carries on COD1 and 2 and the other reason(already metioned on the top)
thats wat i think for now cause the games havnt come out yet and they might change the games, am i wrong? if i am then correct me
Dont argue!!!

@hade Wow awesome.
Yeah insomniac is who made ratchet,lol I only remember because it's one of my favorite series.So I believe based on that, fall of man will be an exclusive.Actually I think they announced it as exclusive but not sure.
That's good news because this is the one game I wanted as most folks here know.My theory is they spend more money on the disc itself but yet they save money on the programming like you were saying hade.So In all, it's even.

@gtr35 Nope your not wrong.
I said at least 25gb per layer, but your right any double layer will have 50gb or more.I aggree with your general statement.Your right there would be no need for 2 discs or even 6 for pc games if you had bluray.Exactly correct.

It'll grow over time. Developers will have so much room and space to tamper with now. They won't have to compress their games as much, or take things out, or chop down graphics or features, levels, etc to fit on 1 dvd. So it'll be interesting to see some of the hit games that come out on ps3.
