Hey everyone

I've been using Shrink for a very long time. I usually run it on my machine that has Windows2000, but the hard drive on that one broke, so I've been using a computer that has XP on it. I've been attempting to get Shrink running on this thing, and am hitting a problem. The Analysis phase runs correctly. I am able to run around in the content tree and do whatever I like. However, when I click on "Backup" the program crashes. Though honestly, it seems like it more or less cleanly shuts down, as there is no freezing or error messages involved- as soon as I click it, it just shuts right down.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated....

Hi.

Is DVD Shrink linked to Nero to burn? If so, delink and see if that solves the problem.

Edit menu > Preferences > File I/O tab

Uncheck "Enable burning with Nero"

If it is linked to Nero what version of Nero? Some versions won't work with Shrink.

Some copy protections can also cause this problem. Are you using AnyDVD or any other program to overcome strong copy protection?

Have you tried uninstalling Shrink and reinstalling?

What option are you selecting as the Backup target after clicking the Backup! button if you get that far. Otherwise what option has been selected in the past as that would be the default option?

After some clicking around I figured it out (started working after I disabled Nero) and then I noticed your reply... thanks so much!
