Personally, I wouldn't buy from Sony since they seem to think it's their right to hack your machine and plant a rootkit...

Fuji's good stuff in my experience anyway, esp. if it's RICOHJPN.

-Do you believe you own your computer and shouldn't be told what you can run and do? Then say *NO* to Microsoft Vista!
-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.

Hmm, I just went to Staples yesterday, got the only 8x DVD+R MIJ spindle that was there(took in a Best Buy add, for price matching). I'm hoping they'll get some more 8x spindles this week, they usually have more 8x than 16x spindles there...

Office max has another brown bag sale. I wonder if they'll price match the verbatims from best buy to bring the price down to around $8.

VA had no sales tax this weekend, Washington, DC has it next weekend (I think), and MD has it toward the end of Aug.

I live in northern VA and took advantage of it yesterday and picked up 4 packs of the +R Verbatims. Tried to talk myself into taking advantage of the no tax day to buy a 50" lcd tv, but couldn't figure out how to do it without my wife finding out and taking all of my toys away. :)

Lol, I have been trying to talk my wife into a new set, but it's a no go and trying to sneak one in and hoping she won't notice won't work either. Tsquare if you find out a way of doing let me know :)

When I move out, and doing *moderately* well, one of the first things I will purchase for my new place is a huge ass, widescreen plasma. I don't care how much it will cost, it will be probably the first thing I get. It's a testament to how big on movies I am ;).

mr.pink - on tigerdirect.com you can get a 56" 1080p samsung dlp tv for 1900. that might be your best choice for a bigscreen tv. you can watch your hd-dvd's and blu-ray's in full res.
