Well on netdropshipper.com I preordered 3 ps3's and it says shipment on september 14th. Is that possible? Iono it sounds stupid but im curious.

well for one thing i am sure that it will NOT come out B-4 november 2006 100% sure, just forget about it! plus y do u want to be the first 1 to get a ps3 so soon? I will wait to see if there r any defects like the 360 in da begining. but i am a ps fan so i will get one in the future.

The local GameCrazy already took preorders, but when I asked the guy how he could assure he would have enough on release he just had that stupid look on his face. They just want your deposit money so that you will have no other choice but to wait when the ps3 releases and they only get 3 or 4 consoles and probably only 1 60G console. Don't do it, you'll probably regret it.

The gamecrazy here in madison, wi took preorders as well. My roomate dropped $50 but I didn't. This was in may. I called them today and they are not taking pre-orders anymore and I asked him how they are going to work it. The guy told me this...(which sounded like a bunch of BS) the amount of PS3 units they are getting depends on how their ps2 sales were/are. Not just the ps2 unit but accessories as well. He also said that some of the pre-orderers dropped the full $600, so if they get 4 units, the 4 are going to those people. Thoughts?
Does anyone else thing this delay in productino may be because they are dropping the two skus and just doing one PS3? Thats the big announcement I'm suspecting...but who knows, and what do I know?

You may have a good point there because with all the criticism about the lower end unit, most people want to go with the 60G version now.

I think it would be HUGE if they offered the 60gb version only and for the lower price of $499. I dunno what the could take away to drop the price $100 but I think it would please a lot of people skeptical about getting a PS3. Maybe have all the features of the 60gb version but drop the HD down to a 20gb. When it all comes down to it, do you really need 40gigs more HD space? They could offer the 60gb as an addon or something.

Oh well its worth $600 if you ask me, because just a regular blue-ray player is $1000 and this is the same thing but + the games.

Yeah I think that it's worth it when you look at it this way. Sony is loosing money on each console they sell. There making there money off games and not the system.

Well, I sent them an email saying you probably meant november 14th but they never answered back. I was thinking that was too, but just curious to see if its possible. Thank you for answering my questions. It would be cool to get it 2 months before everyone.......
