I have been out of comission with this DVD Shrink for about two weeks now! I shrink the files, then the buring process fails but the output files are still saved. it does that all the time now. It never did that before. Any Advice? Should i upgrade Nero,and to what? thanks!

Shrink does not burn but can use a thrid party program such as Nero to burn - Go to preferences in Shrink and tick the Enable burning with Nero option

what error message do you get and when? after Nero launches and the burn is in progress or before it even starts to burn or before Nero launches or exactly when? how are you processing the original disk prior to shrink? ripit4me is working very well for most people, as well as the dvdfabdecrypter -> vobblanker -> shrink method.

If you upgraded Nero 6.6 to 6.6.1.4 then the auto burn link was broken, go back to 6.6.0.18. You can still burn those files manually with Nero.

Nero launches and begins to start burning the files, but within a minute i get this buring process failed! It never used to do that. I use DVD Shrink to shrink the files then burn, b/c i do not know how to use DVD Fab, or Ripit4me to burn dvd's? Any Advice?

i don't know much at all about Nero, so someone else will need to assist with why you would be getting a "burn process failed" error message after starting the burn. what speed are you burning at, and what brand of media are you using and what speed are they rated at? recommendation is to burn at no more than half the rated speed (i.e. burn 16x at 8x, 8x at 4x...)

both the ripit4me and the dvdfab -> vobblanker methods use shrink to compress the dvd files.

if i were you, at this point, unless i could find the answer for Nero aborting the burn, i would either use imgburn to burn (you'll have to "build" an iso from the shrink produced VOB files... imgburn will do that for you prior to burning), or you could run the dvd through shrink again, selecting the option for it to produce an iso file (and have imgburn burn it). see guide for imgburn here (it looks long and complicated, but it's just a matter of setting it up):

just out of curiosity, if this is a commercial dvd that you are backing up, how else did you process it to remove encryptions?

Try and locate your Nero log for the burn and post it. If you have Nero 6 it should be in C:/My Computer/Program File/Ahead/Nero/Nero History. If you have 7 it is in C:/My Computer/Nero/Core/History, or something like that, lol, I use Nero 6. Just post the last failed burn log, edit out your SN, so no one steals it :)

@surfgeo

You can get Shrink to write the ISO file instead of the VOB files. Then you can burn it immediately with Decrypter or ImgBurn.

@trini22
Are the encoded files no good?
Can you play them in Shrink ok?
Is the problem with Shrink or with burning?
