Hi, I'm new to this forum so please be patient. I am having a problem with DVD Shrink not responding. I have used this program for a year or so in the past without any problems. I have recently went to backup a DVD and when I click on open disc the program will not pull up the drive window. It just sits there not responding. I have to close the program with Taskmanager and/or reboot the computer. I have removed/installed the latest DVD Shrink to no avail. The only changes I have done to my computer recently is upgraded my graphics card and drivers (which shouldn't effect the application). I am running Nero 7 on a pentium 4 with win xp home sp2. HELP??!!!
1. Since you upgraded your video card, goto the manufacturer's website and make sure you've got the latest and greatest video drives for the card. If you've installed the drivers that came with the card, it's a good bet that their old.

2. If all you've been using is DVDshrink to create you're backups, you bound to run into trouble, shrink is no longer updated so there will be movies it won't be able to backup. I suggest you first try and rip the video files to your HDD using a good free ripper/decrypter like DVDfab decrypter.
Use it to rip the files to your HDD, it's a whole movie ripper/decrypter so your getting the whole movie, once it's done you can the use DVDshrink to open the files in the VIDEO_TS folder created by DVDFab and proceed using shrink as you normally would.
You might also want to check and make sure your processor isn't overheating while trying to use dvdshrink, which is very cup intensive. Open the PC's case and make sure all fans are working properly, while you're in there give it a good cleaning removing all those dust bunnies.
If the graphics card you used was NVIDA, then yes, it can make a difference. I know NVIDA replaces windows drivers with its own, and these new drivers confilct with Nero at least.

The fix for Nvida drivers is to un-install them, reboot and let windows install its own drivers.
