I've been reading some of the threads for a possible answer to my current problem. Even though some threads seem similar, it doesn't seem that any of them cover my exact problem. Then again, I have a low attention span, so I could be wrong. I've been using DVD Shrink for a while now with now problems. All of a sudden I've been getting the following error message:

Am I just not understanding what the error is all about? Again, I'm a newbie, so forgive my cluelessness. Any help would be greatly appreciated. FYI, I don't know if it makes a difference, but I got the same error whether I try to burn a dvd or dvd files from my hard drive. Thanks in advance for any help I get on this.

suave913,
Welcome to the forum. Your errors are below:

Remove you serial number( edit feature ) as it begins w/ 1A20................

1.Recorder: <LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1633S>Version: BS0H
The firmware is up to BSOY. You can upgrade from the site below
http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?category=4&manufactor=17

2. 10:14:57 PM #26 CDR -1046 File Writer.cpp, Line 304
Illegal disc
I think the firmware upgrade will enable the burner to properly recog the Disk

3. Upgrade to this version of Nero and go no higher:
nero version 6.6.0.18 updates:
Package 1
http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Ner....0.18_no_yt.exe

Package 2
http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe

Go to your first post in this thread and after your first paragraph where the line starts 1A delete that whole line. That is your serial number to your Nero. People can steal that.

Doh! I didn't know that. I'll try removing it, thanks. BTW, I just tried what you said and was able to burn my dvd just fine. Thanks a bunch for the tech support! I'll let you know if I run into any funky problems. Hopefully you'll have patience again with a newbie. :-)

suave913,
Go to the upper right side of the thread ( your first one) and you will see a small rectangle. Click on that as that is the edit button that only you can use to edit your post. Now delete the serial number and hit save changes
