how much do you think the ps3 will be sold for on eBay

hi i was wondering how much do you guys think the ps3 will be on the first to 3 weeks of launch, will a 600 dollar ps3 be around 1200 dollars with just the system and no games, because i have this idea, i was wondering if you can pre order the ps3 for 50 bucks at FYE and then when there is a shortage of them(which i am sure there will be) SELL IT FOR A RIDICULOUS PRICE AND BUY ANOTHER PS3 FOR YOUR SELF, so if you pre order the 600 one that is 50+600+tax and stuff= around 680 and then sell that for like 1100 AND THEN YOU JUST GOT YOURSELF A PS3 FOR 150 BUCKS OR SO.
sounds like a plan for me...anyone else think so.

It's really up to the person buying it. Someone could sell it for as much as they'd want and i'm sure someone would buy it. The average price will prolly be like one thousand dollars to start off with. But then you'd have to concider that Sony will have a plentyfull launch so most people will beable to get their 500-600 dollar system.

There's just some problems:
1. The $50 deposit at FYE goes towards the purchase price and is not added to the total price of the console.
2. Since the Sony announcement yesterday the FYE near my place has stopped taking preorders and I tend to believe that most stores that have taken preorders before have stopped doing so too.
3. I read somewhere that retailers started taking preorders as early as February this year or even earlier. Unless you were one of the very first ones on their list you probably won't get one at launch.
4. People have been doing this very thing when PS2 and 360 launched. I think everyone has a similar plan for the PS3 launch. This is nothing new.
5. The demand for the PS3 will be so high that if you're lucky enough to get one at launch and sell that on ebay you probably will have to wait several months before you can buy another one.

I hope they do as well as the 360 did. I bought 3 sold two of them on Ebay for $1,100.00. I plan to do same with PS3's I'm gusseing $1,500.00-$2,500.00.

There's no way I would have believed this statement regardless of the recent news surrounding Sony's launch.
Anyways, my guess is the mean price on ebay should be around 1000, with some eye-raisers coming at $1800-$2000.

If that's true, it's because the ps3 was initially supposed to be launched before summer of 2006. You remember the first delay?
or was that Blu-ray? I thought the ps3 was delayed...

originally the ps3 was supposed to release in "spring of 06." they never specified at the time if that was going to be a worldwide release or just japan as they did in years past. seems now these companies should realize global releases just don't play out too well. we'll see what nintendo can do, and the Blu-ray player was delayed also

I learned my leason with 360. I got my pre-order at FYE in February. On ebay it will go when I get it and I'll pick up another a few months later.

due to the demand and popularity of the ps1 and ps2 , and due to the low units being shipped the craze that the ps2 went through ,new next gen means new crack lol and a next gen playstation ? imma say anywere from 1,000 to 5,000 and im only roundin that off like that because they are only shippin 500k units and importers our gone want one instead of waitin till march. pluss the christmas craze . remember people went crazy over Furbys and the flat Ps2 sold out when they came out I didnt see them nowhere, so thats why I predict those numbers

I plan to buy 2 systems myself, sell one, keep one. Hopefully the one I sell can pay for the other plus a game or I might buy a 37"-42" LCD with the profits.

I plan to buy like 5-10 PS3s, I have friends that I will pay $100 each to stand in line with me. The ps2 I bought 2 of them and made enough to pay for mine. The 360 I bought 5 and sold 4 I kept 1 made about $1500 after everything and had a free 360.
I feel that the first day on ebay around 3pm to 7pm the price will reach $2500-$3500 then level out to $1300- $1800. A stand alone Blu-ray player is selling for $1000 so a GAME SYSTEM that plays Blu-ray movies is a bargin.
I also have several pre ordered So worst case I will only get 5( I am number 1 & 2 on lists at 2 stores I use different names and numbers) IF YOU BUY A PS3 GET THE EXTENDED WARRENTY.I sent Both ps2 and the 360 back 3 times EACH most new products have there flaws PROTECT YOURSELF
Anyone want to pre order a system from me???? only $1500 USD

i suggest that you guys preorder one or two and then sell them both because they might have bugslike overheating just like the 360thats what im gonna do and i already preordered mine.

Im excited in getting the PS3 but im actually gonna wait a little while so sony has time to fix problems (overheating,crashes,ect.)these are all possibilities and this happens to all new consoles like the 360 and the Ps2 with their bugs. So after 4 months i will probably get a ps3. I doubt they will have a shortage like the 360 which wasnt as prepared. And besides those 4 months give me time to save up my money anyways so i benefit from it. alright well take it easy. And please nobody try to steal PS3 from old grandmothers or rob eb for one this time i mean come on.

I don't think the price will level out below $1500 because of the newly announced delays in the rest of the world. There's gotta be people in England and Canada who are going to be willing to pay big bucks.

when 360 came out i read somehwer they got up to 5000 ( with games and controllers) i live in Ottawa and the 360 launch wasnt a big thing. Ther was still some on shelves the same week it came out. I am no xbox fan...fps should stay on computer, and any other game on xboxi can geton my pc. but i wont be hating the xbox too much dont want to start anything> if the ps3 launch is gonna be anythingl ike the 360 launch, i think even less people wil lbe buying one becasue of the price. I have money to buy the ps3, and if i see a couple on the shelves, im gonna pick up 2 or 3, keep one for myself and sell the rest on ebay for triple the price.

i hacked xbox 360's for this company. this person in charge of me, orders consoles in bulk. hopefully i'll get the ps3 the same day as release. its usually best to buy direct from sony online, but they only sell in bulk. like 5 or 10+.
i'll be selling them on ebay den!!! i'll also try to hack them!
