I am in the process of setting up my new Toshiba A105-S4074 laptop and wanted to put on my bullet proof combination of AnyDVD/DVD Shrink/Nero which has served me flawlessly for a long time (Thanks to excellent guidance from this site.) I am having an issue though on this machine, Shrink analyses the disk ok but when I click on backup it hangs for a second or two and then completely exits the program with no messages. It happens with all disks including ones that backup fine on my other computer. It even fails to backup disks that are actual backups from my other computer which theoretically have all encryptions removed. Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks in advance?.Mike

hello,
have u tried re-installing DVD Shrink?

Also dont multi-task when using shrink becuz it takes up 100% of ur CPU power.

One question. Do you have other burning software installed on your laptop?? There may be a conflict. Just a thought.

I think there is something called Sonic something or other that came with the computer, I will check that out when I get home because I do not have it with me at work now. Do you think that DVD Shrink would be confused even though from the setup it is told to use Nero to burn, or do some programs not relinquish control of the burner? When the programs ends abruptly it has not yet even started encoding. Thanks, Mike

I suggest you try uninstalling sonic and reinstall shrink as recommended by 300bowler. I asume you're using Nero 6.6.0.18??
I think that's the last version compatible with shrink autoburn with Nero.

You are correct Nero 6.6.0.18 is last version which autoburns with Shrink of the 6.6 series. It may be better than any of the buggy 7 versions. Nero has really not put out a very good product lately.
