Hi fastgtp99
1st let's check and make sure all your drives are in DMA & not the slow pio mode.

Do you have deep analysis or quality enhancements checked in Shrink?

Hmm I think you mean preferences in shrink?

For dma mode - that's a transfer mode for your drives. Use the link above to show you where to go - your looking for the advanced tab under properties for the ide channel(s) (primary & secondary).
Check the transfer mode there. Current transfer mode should also have Ultra DMA mode listed.

Check that out & we can go from there.

This happened to me after an AnyDVD update. Dvdshrink just started taking forever! Or the time frame would say 3 or 4 hours and then I would walk away and it would take about 50 mins to back up. It went from about 20 mins to 50 mins. I tried making all kinds of adjustments to dvdshrink. Finally I went into windows and made shrink have a high priority, that helped a little. But I felt it was stupid. I have a 2.8gig machine with 1.5 gigs of ram and it was still taking me 50 mins to back up a dvd. I dont use DVD Shrink any longer. I went to dvdclone and I like it. It's quick, about 15 mins for a movie and it does a great job. which is important to me.
