I have succesfully downloaded a movie which is saved into a folder.
How do I get shrink to work.
I am a total novice and still feeling my way around.
I can burn it to disk but am only able to view it on my computer and not on my DVD player.

What format is the file that you downloaded in.The file needs to be converted to an mpeg2 format before you can do anything like re author it with shrink.Shrink isnt a burning application, for that you will need something like Nero or roxio

Don't feel bad, I'm a newbie too. I just watched my first dvd copy I made. It only took 3 days to figure out how to do it. Here is a link to a forum that helped me out a great deal.

If the movie is in .avi format you need to convert it to MPEG-2 DVD Compliant files like guyrus stated you can use Avi2DVD ( free):
http://www.trustfm.net/divx/SoftwareAvi2Dvd.html.

If it is in another format post back what the format is then we can try and help you w/ that format
