I've recently purchased ps2 scph-77001 and I was wondering if I could use magic switch pro v3. Since the model is pretty new, I haven't heard much of what they changed in the model and whether one can install magic switch pro v3. Can anyone who has 77001 share which magic switch tools they were able to install. Thanks.

Did you get the PSTwo XCM Slim Tool V3 Pro to work with your SCPH 77001?
Thanks

The tool came today and I installed it :) It works just fine, I actually found tool B to the trickiest and not tool E like everyone else. It is definetly do-able, I recommend a small flashlight and a little patience.

Get a Swap Magic 3.6 plus Magic Keys 2 Combo and it will work with Version 15 for sure. Last week even I was asking the same question to everyone.
I bought it from Ultimateconsoleguides.com and I highly recommend them as they are really fast + responsive. To tell you, I ordered from Revolution-sales first on December 27 and heard back from them that they are closed until Jan 4th and the order will be shipped on Jan 4th only. So i cancelled my order with them and placed the order on Ultimateconsoleguides.com, on December 28, Friday night. They shipped my order on Saturday morning itself and I received it today January 3rd, 2007 which is fairly quick considering I live in west coast and they shipped from east coast.
The installation is fairly easy, Tool E installation was not very difficult just a little patience like everyone has said before. I already tested mine out and whoaaa it works perfectly....
Good luck guys.
Cheers,
Angie

I have teh scph-77001 and got the last part to work with no problem. It may take a little paitence, but it will work. You have to start by putting the tip in and following the curve of the metal, sliding it down, turning with the bends of the metal. Once the the rectangle part of the metal is flush with the PS2, hold it there to test the Swap Magic Disc. If it works, remember where it is at, lift up slightly to get the paper off and press back down.
Hope this helps.

I think the easiest way is to just be very gentle and to kind of wiggle it in. Don't force it, just try and "feel" the right path as you slide it in.

Hi,
Like I said in my post the last part is slightly tricky but it works. There are numerous guides out there but they dont solve that tricky part.
So let me help you: 1. After you have installed Tool 1 and 2, go ahead and insert the SWAP Magic disk (DVD or CD). 2. Now try and insert the Tool 3 for which there are even videos available on ultimateconsoleguides or magickeys3.net. Even after you inserted the Tool 3 if the disk doesn't rotate then a slight adjustment is required. Move the tool 3 slightly left or right and whoaaa the disk will start rotating !
Hope this helps.

bahhh i'll wait a week or so to see if it works. i'll just leave the lid slightly opened. this still makes the disk spins, but can i play imported games?

Huh? Impossible, I got the Magic Keys II working with a v12. Anyway, if you're looking for the older one look for "Magic Switch Pro" or something along those lines.
See tool "C" thats the one that fits in the console v12.

Yes, I got it working for the v12. Its basically same, but without the super small hole.
Buy the Magic Switch Pro, it will save you the trouble.
