I need some help too, I was told by cingular that my phone was going to work on my trip outside us but it does not unfortunately.

been IMEI blocked, needs unlocking via a cable and flashing software
take it too local shop they should be able to do it for you

no idea coz i dont mess with flashing too much risk, it will be via cable, either a serial cable or a cable connected to the PC via RJ45
i wouldnt recommend flashing your phone if you dont know what your doing, because ive seen a few get cooked, and they wont switch on again
you basically messing with the phones memory, so if you do attempt it make sure you backup the flash memory first using the software

if you trust this guy to unlock your phone, then fine, however when it gets blocked dont come back to me

yeah you may have done a few but you dont know about extra settings and stuff like that
when phones get older then the box settings and serials get changed, basically becasue nokia dont want them unlocking anymore, and when you find out a phone that has changed then your going to be in deep crap
6230's are easy phones because they are new, give it a year when nokia decide that these phones dont need to be tested on networks anymore, and then we will see how hard they are to unlock
i aint mad with you, but ive been doing this in here for a while you know and it was kind of my thing to do on this forum, i mess about it the ps2 forums but i aint that knowledgeable
ill just leave it at that :)

i wasnt here because i live in the UK and quite a few people live in the USA on here, like this guy did, he posted at like 2am UK time, and I was in bed
well the codes are right so thats fine, if you want to help people thats great, but when ive spent time helping people in here its kind of a kick in the nuts
for once an actual post in this nokia forum got some response, were probably up to like 80 posts now or something! which is wicked because no one used to bother, now people are coming from outside to use so lets just get on with it ok?
