Why does that not surprise me :) I love my samsung burners. You cant go wrong with them. I call them samsung because they deserve their proper name. My burners are samsungs rebranded $ony DRU-'s Although I think my 820 is a panasonic.
To delete, or not to delete. THAT is the question!

Was this a new or used burner? They way you said you couldn't resist the offer? You paid too much wherever you got it.

@BookerT,
As we all have our ways of doing things I'll have to admit you're only getting to about 12x on that burn but knowing which LG you purchased and I'm "assuming" it's an internal burner you did get "taken" as they say. If you're able to order from the EGG you could get numerous ODD's delivered for under $30 (USD). Looking at your burn log it seems you're burning an image about 2.2GB in size and you should have NO issues burning an image that size at 12x.
How bout we start over and really try to help you get this done.
What are you trying to burn? avi, iso, mkv, TS_VIDEO, or just what kind of file?
If it's an avi or mkv file you'll have to "re-encode" or "convert" it with something like ConvertXtoDVD, Super, or DVD Flick. All of those work but with "some" degree of difficulty. I would say DVD Flick is the best but I've had some issues with MKV files I think.
Once you have the "conversion" finished you'll have to determine if your file is in VIDEO_TS or ISO format and then choose the correct program to burn your file. Of course IMGBURN will do either one but it really converts the VIDEO_TS file to ISO format to burn it.
The most important thing to remember is choosing the CORRECT format for your video, NTSC or PAL. All the conversion progies give you the ability to force one or the other, just choose it.
So are any of your DVD's playing? IF so which method did you use? good luck to you...

I have the same LG burner, picked up at the Egg for $21.99 free shipping, burns everything I've thrown at it and plays on all of my standalones so I don't have any problems with it.
@BookerT I'm guessing that you are not a native english speaker, which isn't a problem, but what part of the world are you in, is your native format NTSC (North America), PAL (Most of Europe) or SECAM? This may be where you are running into problems if you record one format and try to play it on another format.
I believe that Nero can create a DVD in either PAL or NTSC, you may want to check that option out as well.
Go ahead and post a picture of your desktop so that we can see if you have too many burning programs installed on your system. Any info will help us help you I hope.
The Egg has the same burner now on sale for $24.99 free shipping again.

LOL, just noticed your using Ritek dvds. NOT the best discs by far. But that does depend on the burner! The LG may not like them!
LOL, you dont wanna be burning them at the max speed either! Riteks are not good media. Ive had VERY little luck with them. Their cds are ok though.
You may not like yours much, but the reviewers at CDFreaks love the OP's.
?LG GH22LP20 is a solid performer and an excellent choice for reliable CD and DVD burning at record speeds. It effortlessly produces quality burns faster than most other drives to date. We highly recommend it.?
And they tested it with Ritek F1's, burned at 16X, their rated speed.
The LG GH22LP20 produces a very good quality burn with this FujiFilm media.
I guess you can stop LOLing now.

My LG is the NP20. Previous statements were mearly my opinions. If I offended anyone, I apologize.
I did say that riteks depend on the burner being used. I still believe however that they're NOT the best discs to be using. To each his/her own however :)
My LG is the first LG burner ive gotten my hands on. Simply dissapointed with mine.
To delete, or not to delete. THAT is the question!

I have an LG external USB GSA-2166D that's about 3 years old. I never burned much with it then, had 2 BenQ 1650internal or now with litey and optiNEC. BUT If I have a disc that can't be read, it's the last resort and it will read 99% of them. Also it will coordinate with my two internals in Nero Burning Rom and burn 3 at a time @8X all finishing together.
Can't say anything bad about it either.

@omega,
no offense taken, I've seen some burners that people swear by act strange in other setups, so perhaps burners are prone to misbehaving under certain circumstances and other intangible variables from one system to another. Personnally I like difffering opinions. Keeps things lively.
@Mystice,
you read the same review I did before I purchased that burner.
