I'm now getting a lot of too big to fit on disk errors even on the smallest of movies. I think I will continue to try to fix this software off and on. It's become a hobby in itself. I've got all the other software I need. So maybe I'll just keep playing with this one. I do not however recommend this crappy program to anyone. Dvd cloner 2.2 is not worth it in my opinion. Still haven't burned one. Re- loaded software and it got a little better but still no dice.

hi gang, just wanted to let you know how I got on:
I downloaded DVD43 and Patin-Couffin. that way my machine became region-free.
Then I downloaded DVD Shrink and nero6, full version.
Everything works flawlessly. There is another dvd-shrink guide that I find even better than the one here. here's the link to it: http://www.chrismccann.co.uk/dvd_shrink_3.htm Have backed-up a dvd on TDK DVD+RW and on TDK DVD+R. I'm grateful for not having run into any sort of problems...yet. :-)
Best, Amar.
Pentium 4, 3.2GHz, 1.024gig ram, 250 gig hd, 128MB ATi Radeon 9800 PRO, 8x AGP, DVI & TV-Out, DVD+R/+RW 8x/4x discdrive with Sonic MyDVD Software and DVD 16x.., well, just the Dell Dimension Platinum baby.

Fooling around with DVDs really tears up your hard drive. You may want to do a defrag if you have done a few of them.

briyam & Deeman,
Have you updated your aspi layer? If so, what version?

Deeman,
Get ForceASPI. It's easy and can go on any O/S. Download, unzip, click "instaspi", reboot and try dvdcloner2.

I understand that hardware varies. If you notice my dell and gateway are worlds apart. But DVDCloner2 was an easy install. I downloaded v2.20, updated my aspi layer and thats it. I find if you cover all the little things it helps.
1) Working aspi layer
2) Burner is your master and only burner on its cable
3) IDE is set to DMA
4) Use good media
5) Have a clean source disk
that's all I can think of right now :)

briyam,
So your not able to burn to disk with shrink either? Well Shrink doesn't burn by itself, you need either Nero or decrypter to burn.

briyam,
Remember Decrypter only burns ISO files. So when you use shrink, after clicking "backup!" you'll need to change the target destination to ISO Image File :)
