OK, IM NOW WRITING THIS FOR THE 3RD TIME AFTER THE TOUCHPAD MADE ME GO BACK A PAGE! So im gonna cut it short cause im pissed off.
I think there should be a filter so that in the "my account" page, it shows you how many posts youve made in the safety valve seperately from your overal count.
EG:
Safety valve posts: 115
Everything else : 499
Overall : 614
That way, you would know how many posts you are away from the next member title. Im on 600 and something posts, but i dont know how many of them count towards the title.
See what i mean? Just a suggestion, it would be cool.
Thanks ireland!![afterdawn legend]

Yeah I would like that too. But it would be hard to do since people already made post in the safety valve and it is under overall already so it might be hard to do. But yeah that would be cool if that did happen.

If it where up to me, we'd lose statusses alltogether.
Just keep in the post restrictions for newbies and juniors.
And keep in the titles for staff and mods to keep things clear of course.

Look all we know is that anything posted in the valvue does not count towards the movement of members status. But what amzaes me is that i post in the safety valve and it still increases my overall number of subsribed threads and messages that i have posted.
Wouldnt it be easier to have them not be making an effevt on the overall number period.
Can be confusing and may give false hope to new members.

Unfortunately we have too many posters here/who join up here, who only do it to gain a title under their username. It's always evident from their posts and i've never understood this behaviour. For instance, i'm a member of various work related forums and i just replied to a post on one of them. Just checked and i have been a member since Jan '04 and have made a whopping 89 posts on there. Being as it's work related and real techie stuff you'd think people (myself included) would post like mad to look good on such big forums, and to gain titles etc, but no (and maybe it's because we're old fuddie-duddies). I contribute simply because i can. Call me old-fashioned (or old, old-ish!) but quantity doesn't matter, good ole quality wins every time.
Anyways, enough sensible talk from me, it's too early :). if anyone wishes to glance thru my AD posts (warning, my subscribed threads are massive, your CPU will work hard while the browser has to work thru all the threads) but there won't ge a great deal of Safety Valve posts in there :)

Forget it, it doesnt matter, people are missing the point.
P.S Creaky, do the same for me, and all of mine will be in the safety valve LMAO! Hee hee. Thats better than posting useless crap in the other sections that noone will gain from. If i can help people, i will. In the "all other topics" section, there are alot of questions on general things, and people needing help. I post alot there, but that doesnt count towards status either. I prefer being a member as oppose to a senior member, because a senior member status for me would be falsey labelling me as someone who helps people alot and has posted alot of useful stuff. Well, i havent. I try to when possible but i dont have much time, other than to post in the safety valve on general topics, and all other topics.
(if that made no sense then..meh)
:D

don't worry, the posters who do post utter rubbish in the other sections stand out like a sore thumb anyway, well maybe expect to themselves :P
