This should be moved to the PS3 forum...
Resistance:fall of man is 22GB...
BR has a stable 50GB dual layer disc now and a possablie 3 layer that can do 80-100GB but GB alone dose not make a game right now all the extra space can do is have better sound and more textures/frames on models.
Also some of the old loading annoyances will become a issue, and by loading I mean loading of a new level and loading of a new part of the map (morrwind, oblivion and such) still I am keeping an eye on what they can do and keeping an eye on the evolution of gameplay I a so tired of crappy corporate cookie cuter games...

Still the PS3 is about the only thing yet that MIGHT be able to addle large lush environments, like take Far cry and use its graphics on morrowind,,then can they do it at that level or higher without having a ton of loading, gameplay and AI come next, frankly I cant wait to see what Bioshock dose with AI I have a feeling tis not as great as they say but I can see AI scripts that could keep the AI from being "DIM".

Only compressed games take forever to load....example oblivion on 360. That is why Hd dvd is at the disadvantage cuz it needs to compress everything in order to fit a game to a disc. With the Ps3 havin Bluray...there wont be a need to compress files to fit on the disc cuz the disc space is effin huge, so load times should not be a big issue.

thats half right since 1 there are no HD games planed and 2 a 3 layered HD disc can hit 40-60GB rather easily.

Yes that's correct, from the people that had the ps3 systems as of late for testing, they said the ps3 did not take long to load games as some might have expected,it's probably better than the 360.
And yes multi layer is starting to become more evident.in a few years,it would be possible to have 1 Terrabyte bluray or whatever disks, that have like 40 layers on them.As a matter of fact, you don't even need more layers, just new technology to make more of what i cal "pot holes" on the disk,it would easily be possible in ten years to have a 1+ TB disk with one or 2 layers...

of coarse the PS3 is "better" its built on better hardware, anyone doubts that s a fanboy, the 360 is a 1.5 system like the Wii thats pretty much a fact.
but besides that the formats are rather simmaulr with BR having the possibility to have a higher capacity it just got dual BR stable recently so who knows in a year where things will be since both groups of corporations seem to be digging in for the long haul.
Theres just to many factors ,but its a fact HD DVD right now this minute is doing better, but then thats how battles go,the war is years from being over,I would like BR to win and get cheap because 100GB a disc is orgasmic to me.

Quote: Phil Harrison, corporate executive and representative director of Sony Computer Entertainment spoke with Gamesindustry.biz recently about how developers are already using a full 25GB Blu-ray disc for their games.
"Already, at our launch titles, we're getting up close to the 25GB limit that we have on our Blu-ray discs this year...Next year we'll raise that to 50GB, and I'd expect that we?ll be getting close to that in the fairly near future as well," he explained.
When asked about the non-interactive HD movies some developers are implementing and how that may be the reason for the high storage usage, Harrison added, "It's not just about graphics...It's about 7.1 audio, it's about speech, it?s about having up to 1080p movies built into the game; it's high res textures, it's animation, it's everything that goes into making a very rich and varied next-gen experience.
interesting but nothing really new.
this to me was the part of the interview that stuck, and this is why the ps3 is superior than its competitors...
Quote: Partly it's visual, partly it's sound, and partially it'll be down to gameplay benefits as well - more levels, more detail, richer experiences."
going along with his statement especially "richer experiences," this is from IGN:
Quote: The Six Axis functionality is purely optional of course, though we had a blast making huge saves and diving across the crease to deny powerful one-timers and firing slapshots. During our hands-on the control was inverted, though the option was there to use default controls as well. The added tilt control felt absolutely solid, and the promise of tilt sensitivity in the final version adds to our confidence in the Six Axis implementation. Using the controller was quick and easy, and really added to the experience.
http://ps3.ign.com/articles/739/739514p2.html
so those who choose to argue or say w/e remember that the ps3 offers motion sensing, something the 360 lacks and according to IGN "really added to the experience." the wii has this feature, however when you add the visual graphics the experience, IMO will be far better on the ps3 than any other system. i never really thought i'd miss rumble anyhow, but this gives some nice reassurance.

I personally hated rumble,i always put it off were possible,i am welcoming the change...Though the motion sensing technology is spectacular, there is so much possiblities to it...It's more than possible that in te future there will be some real fun games running mostly on motion sensing, but for now just a few and only a little bit.But believe it or not,it's the little things that i appreciate, like been able to jab the enemy in resistence thanks to motion sensing, and having to row a boat while been fired with enemy rounds with the motion sensing capabilities.Like i said, the whole motion sesnsing idea is great!Yes the 360 is a half assed system, why do you think ms have already started designing a new system, the xbox 720! ooooo sony be scared, cough cough,(notice my sarcasm) LOL...29 days till ps3 heaven...

the gameplay tilt and play motion sensing is rather weak....the rumble feature was ok but was rarely used for anything other than you get hit you 'rumble"
the only thing I can see the tilt and play adding to is horrid mini game power modes in a FF game or something of the like...I could see it used as maybe balancing your character on a rope or beam but beyond that...its about as useful as the rumble feature on zelda to find hidden stuff...they have to show that this is not a gimmick at the same time not forcing it on most games meaning you can opt out of using it.
the ps3 hands down has the capacity for graphics unlike the 1.5 consoles of the other systems however...it still lacks something, the games will have to show its a full fledged 2.0 system and not a rehashing machine of the 99-06 of games that look great but play badly.
The Wiis innovation alone brings it near 2.0 however the meat is in the games..if they fail to use the innovation the console brings then its all for naught.
the 360 is still limping from its launch....and has along way to go.......

how can you not see other apps for the tilt? driving, flying, submarines, rolling left and right, for moving around in user interfaces, easy 3rd person control (like for sw:kotor), and others.
also, is the wii's sensor bar able to see where its pointing on the tv?
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

yea the tilt gives the game a whole new dimension. Imagine playing a fps and tilting the controller to look down at ur feet and stuff. Or in the new Alone in the dark game tilting to look down into the inside of your jacket to check out ur items.....how is that weak?
Im sure its not permanent anyways you probably have to hold a button down for the tilt to activate it.

I have tooken a pad and imagined tilting and moving it...frankly it puts me off center on the pad and mess's with where my fingers are on it it truly feels like a gimmick unlike the WII controller, but makeing sure games have sentivy controls and other adjustment options will prove which is not the "gimmick" I have this feeling that they will force cookie cutter sentivty .....hopefully tho they will just keep the buttons and analog sticks set in stone and not sentivy and fine adjustment options.
