There have been allot of post dealing with emulation recently and it seems that alot of people are having trouble with getting them to work so I thought that I would make up a guide to follow if you want to use these emulators.
Snes station
Files that you will need
snesstation_beta 1 (you can find this file at http://snes-station.gamebase.ca/)
AT LEAST 10 ROMS (there are many places to find these just do some searching on goolgle)
Burning software (I will describe how to use NERO in these guides)
-Start off by downloading SNES Station and all of the roms that you want (minimum 10)
-then go into windows explorer and right click on the snes station file snesstation_beta1 (you may have saved it as something different) we will leave this for now but come back to it later
-now go to your Roms that you downloaded and right click and extract you will get all new folders with the game names
now we are ready to make the cd
-open nero select CD-ROM(ISO) (this is not in the wizard)
-click on the ISO tab at the top and make sure these settings are selected
Joliet
ISO level 2 (max of 31 chars)
Mode 2/xa
ISO 9660
then click new
in the file browser window locate the place where you extracted SNES station (in my case c:\download\snesstation_beta1)
-open the file and drag these 4 files into the new compilation that we are making
SNES_EMU.001
SNES_EMU.002
SNES_EMU.003
SYSTEM
-now you want to make a folder called "roms" (no quotations)
-now locate the rom folders that we extrated earlier open the folders in the nero file browser drag over the .smc files (for example supermario.smc)
Once you have at least 10 roms in the roms folder you are ready to burn
make sure that you are not creating a multisession
click burn and you are done (i burn at 16x speed and it works great so I dont think that burn speed matters)
PGEN
files needed
pgen_v1-beta
sega roms
burning software (nero in this case)
starting off you need to download pgen and sega genesis roms
you can download pgen at http://www.zophar.net/consoles/ps2.html
step 1:extracting all files
go to windows explorere and find where you downloaded pgen (in my case C:\Download\pgen_v1-beta)
right click on the pgen_v1-beta (or whatever you named it ) and choose extract all it will give you a new folder (we are done with this for now but will come back to if later
next extract all of the zipped rom folders that you downloaded (you will get all new folders for each individual game)
now that all of the files are downloaded and extrated we can go on to burning them
open nero select CD-ROM(ISO) (this is not in the wizard)
-click on the ISO tab at the top and make sure these settings are selected
Joliet
ISO level 2 (max of 31 chars)
Mode 2/xa
ISO 9660
then click new
find the pgen folder that you extracted in the file browser (C:\Download\pgen_v1-beta in my case)
then drag these 5 files over to our new compilation
MODULES
MUSIC
INSTALL.CNF
PGEN1OB.ELF
SYSTEM.CNF
also create a folder called "roms" (no quotations)
now we need to find the roms that we unziped/extracted and drag them over to the roms folder
(do not drag the entire folder over just the .smc .bin or .smd file over)
the roms will have a file extention of .smc .bin and occationally .smd (for example sonic2.smc)
once we have all of the roms we want with a minimum of 10 than we are ready to burn
click on the burn icon and choose speed and you are finsished (also at this point you want to make sure that there is no multi session)
and you are finished
to boot both of these roms is just like booting any copied ps2 game the method will change depending on what mod you have installed

IT MIGHT BE NES GUIDE
first off I there is a slight problem with this emulator some people with mod chips will have problems because you need a game shark or action replay to play these otherwise it will hang at the intro screen. I am not sure if cd loader will work but hopefully someone will be able to give it a try (who dosent have a version 7)
-first off you will need to download "It Might Be NES" this can be found at
http://www.zophar.net/consoles/ps2.html
-Once you have the zip folder you need to extract the contents
-once you have extracted/unzipped the imbnes v1.3 folder you will have these files
nes.exe
rombank.exe
system.cnf
you will also have a saveicon.bmp but this is not important
-now we will need to download some roms (there are various sources I find that www.emulationstation.com is a very good site but as long as the file ends in .nes it is fine )
-now that we have our roms in one folder we can go onto the next step
-find your file rombank.exe that came in the imbnes v1.3 and open it up
-up in the top left there is a button for add roms click this
-it will brink you to a browse for folder window where you will need to select the folder where you downloaded your nes roms(.nes files) once you have selected the folder click ok
-it will have a list of all of the roms
-now you want to click on the build IMBNES iso button on the bottom
-this will bring up a window where you will choose your destination for the rom pack and the reigon that you are living in
MAKE SURE YOU SELECT THE BOX THAT SAYS "BUILD ROMBANK.BIN ONLY"
-then click build this should take a few seconds...once it is done you can close rombank.exe
-now we are ready to make our cd (I will be describing how to use nero)
-open Nero select CD-ROM(ISO) (this is not in the wizard)
-click on the ISO tab at the top and make sure these settings are selected
Joliet
ISO level 2 (max of 31 chars)
Mode 2/xa
ISO 9660
then click new
in the browser window of nero locate the "nes.exe" and the "system.cnf" files and drag them over you also want to add the .bin file that we made with rombank earlier I called mine nes.bin and saved it in the imbnes folder (you may have saved it as something different) drag the .bin folder over into the compalation with nes.exe and system.cnf and then selct burn and you are done
If you cant find you .bin file or dont have one it is becasue when we were creating the rompak in rombank you forgot to click the "only build rombank.bin file only"
make sure that you arent creating a multisession
also make sure that you are finalizing the disc

I've read other guides that say you have to use CDGENPS2.exe. Is this true?

Ok, I am using a gameshark v2 to do a swap trick and I used both your method here, and the one on PGEN's website for no-mod users (making a bin/iso with CDGENPS2). Your method keeps locking up the gameshark after i swap out the cd and hit X. The method I found on PGEN's website just sends me to the red screen of death when I hit X after swapping out the CD. Any ideas?

ok if the disclaimer comes up but you cant see a list of your roms it meas that you did all steps right with snes station but your roms are not being recognised
did you make sure that you extracted your zipped roms before draging the .smc file over
also you drag only the .smc file into your "roms" folder not whole file folder containing containing the game becasue it wont reecognise that

It would be cool if someone could post about PS2 MAME, I got it to work but only with a few roms, I have a post here for what roms work but no one has posted. I got a few to work but I wish I could get roms like (Pak-Mahn) to work. Has anyone had luck with this rom and the PS2 MAME home brew code or emulator? Any help would be great as I have run out of options with my limited programming skills heh!

The roms work on the PC but not on the PS2. I have tried many different roms already but I will see if there are any I have not tried yet. Thanks for the reply.

Ok, I have been trying this all day for snes-station...I went out and bought a Action Replay and I burned my roms and the snes-station just like this tut and others said and I can't get it to work!?! I have well over 11 roms on my disk but the full size is about 400mb, I am using the knife swap method but when I put in my CD to load up at the "Please Insert Game Disk" screen and press X to load nothing happens...it just stays on that screen with any method I have used!!! Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong and how to get past this screen?

Have you tried changing the LBA of the system.cnf to 12231? That seems to be necessary if you don't have a modchip.
ps2 v7 with matrix infinity and 160gb hdd
pioneer a05 dvd-rw
Nero Burning Rom
Windows XP Pro
psp with 3.40oe-a custom firmware
Gamecube with SD Media launcher, SD Gecko, and Action Replay.

Yes I have follwed both this guide and the guide at PGENS site to the "T" and niether way has loaded me into the actual emu, I either get stuck on the press X after changing disk screen or a total black screen:(I have changed the LBA like the guide says and tried burning into .bin and ISO...do I need an older Action Replay or is a modded ps2 really the only way to get it to work cause the knife swap isn't workin:/
this is the other guides I have used

well something is not right with the size of your disc how many roms do you have the latest disc of roms that I have has a whole bunch of roms but it is only 34mb to fill 400 mb you would need a obscene number of roms
where are you getting your roms from ?
what file extention are they ?
what is the average size of the extrated/unzipped roms ?

Ack.. I'm having trouble too...
Here is my file structure for snes station.
NEW
+Roms
+Super Mario
-super_mario.smc
+blah blah
-blah.smc
-(system files in NEW cd folder)
+ = folders, - = files
I have more than 10 games. It loads up the disclaimer and the music... then just a black screen w/ music. Using magic3.1
Any help would be appreciated; my dog is getting tired of these cd frisbees.
Thanks

...hmmm...so I may have too many roms on it? I have 173 roms on the disk plus the snes-station files, the rom files are .smc and a couple are .fig...average size of the roms are from 1mb to 4mb most are around 2mb (alot are RPG's and they seem to be bigger files) I will try putting around 50 roms on one disk and see what happens then, I'll post the progress when I get to that stage ;)...Oh yeah, I'm burning at 4x on Memorex 700mb disk if that matters and my Action Replay is version (if I'm reading this right) is|FP| HP10
