shrink burner speed

in shink it has 2 options to burn at max and 2 i believe. which is better and why is there two options? how does this relate to my external burner speed?

Those sound like some default speed selections...make sure you have a blank disc in the drive before selecting your speed. It is typically recommended to burn at half the rated speed of the blank, but with new high quality drives coupled with current firmware and quality blanks higher speeds can be achieved with excellent results.
