DVD Shrink always worked, now it never burns!!

Hi all, I'm a new member and I have been burning DVDs for well over a year now and just as of recently, when I use DVD Shrink, it encodes the files and when Nero opens to start burning the disc, I get this long weird error...Can anybody help me or recommend another program to use instead of DVD Shrink?

Here's a few more suggestions.

No manufacture id's or codes in your log so your drive doesn't fully recognize the media and this can be causing your problem.
What media and rated burn speed are you using? Like Sony +R 16x.

Still have some of Nero 6 left. So uninstall Nero - run the clean tools for 6 & 7 and reinstall Nero. The latest version of 7 is 7.5.1.1. Here a link for the clean tools:

You can give ImgBurn a shot. Great free burning program. Take the video_ts folder from Shrink and use the build mode to burn.
Give those a go and let us know!

thanks for letting me know about the serial #..umm..I am using and have been using for over a year now NexxTech DVD+R 8X. Never had a problem with these. I'll try the other things you mentioned. Thanx.

OK, I did the roxirip, both 6 and 7 Nero Cleaners, uninstalled and reinstalled the brand new 7.5 version. I don't think there'a a problem with Nero because it still burns audio and data cd's. I tried burning a DVD and I got this error. What now??

I don't think is a Nero issue either - more a media or the drive itself on the way out.
Try burning those files w/ ImgBurn. Use the build mode for the video_ts folder.

ImgBurn will also give a log. Just press 'L' before you begin.
Nexxtech uses different manufacturers so you can get a different one w/ each spindle of discs that you buy.
Better ones to use would be Verbatim or made in Japan Sony, Fuji or Maxell.
So that would be another option trying a different brand of media.

Now it won't let me burn audio cd's after I just did one about 2 hours ago. I have no idea what to do next!!

Well ShadyB721 it may just be time to replace this drive.
It's a bit older in burner years compared to what the newer drives will now support.
Good drives are pretty cheap now a days.
Do you have another pc you can try this drive in? If you do may just want to try that out. If it fails in that pc then def. the drive is the problem.

Maybe your discs of Nexxtech are manufactured by CMC Mags...not exactly the best quality of discs to begin with. Add to the fact that your burner is 2 years old, your drive is not recognizing it correctly.
My first burner (almost 3 years ago), an Iomega DVDRW4216IND-A (rebadged NEC-1300A) refused to read cmc discs, which also happened to be nexxtech ones...
Since then, I've gotten 2 lite-on burners that have worked well...
As Binkie suggested, it's time to invest in something new and better...

well you know what you could try! i do this when things start messing up one day when thing were going great the day before, have you tryed doing a system restore and just go back to the day before you started having problems, it is worth a try, the worst it could do is work or not, also i have a hp300i burner and it is a 4x and i have been burning for at least 4 years and have in the ballpark of 1800 dvd backups give or take 100, hope this helps good luck happy burning have a nice day
