Does anyone out there have a dell dvd burner that works with DvdXCopy? I have heard the two have had issues in the past.

wow chris , thanks ,
yea i have dell with xcopy . i guess you went to dell forum or called dell? COWARDS! they locked the forum board so no questions can be asked on how to copy things . yes thats true
i recorded my 4th of july fireworks ...put them on a dvd and asked dell for help .
look at this reply (WICH IS NOT LEGALY TRUE )

I am sending this email to inform you that this post has been
deleted from the Forum for information concerning copying commercial
DVDs. Under the current US judicial interpretation of the Digital
Millennium Copyright Act, it is not legal to copy DVDs, even
ones you personally own for backup or any other purpose; the
actual act of breaking the DVD encryption itself is illegal under
the DMCA. At this point, we are not allowing any information
to be posted in the Dell Forum?s concerning ways to copy DVDs,
so all post with information (or web links) on how to do so or
referring to software that will do, so will be deleted.
There are currently lawsuits and legislation pending that may
affect the legality of this and Dell may change this policy depending
on the outcomes, but at this time we are not allowing information
on copying DVDs.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation and thank you
for using the Dell Community Forums.

Sincerely,
Dell Community Forum Administration

Dell suck, I know somebody who got their computer off them recently with a dvd burner and nothing would burn a dvd at all for him. Even Nero would only see the dvd burner as a cd burner, now that is bad shit. And yes they suck at technical support, they dont have a clue what so ever about computers! Ah well!

Forgetting about the bad DVD Writers they put in, their computers are actually very well built, though they are designed around the environment of no personal upgrades which doesnt suit me.

Just learn how to build your own, self built machines are by far the best and anyone can learn to build a PC!!! :-)

The way i like to do it is buy a good PC every 3-5 years or so, and just keep rebuilding each year. I had a class Fujitus Siemens Celeron 1GHz and its been rebuilt now twice to a Pentium 4 2.53GHz with sh*t loads of gear. The case was good that came with it.

I think, from a Business point of view, that it is probably wise of them not to give you support for this particular problem. You will need to rely on the other half of the problem. DVD X Copy. Thats what the boards here are for. They should be able to advice you ok.

Yes they should. But dell does not have to answer to a fault with a specific piece of software. You dont design hardware based around software as standard. The standard is to design the software based around the hardware. And with that point i feel that DVD X Copy should solve the problem, not Dell!

Ye i hear you man, dont get me wrong but still to call and say it might do some good, you would never know they could have found some fault that effected dvd burning in the past and walk you through a fix :-)

thing is they wont help with any dvd issue
they have no way of knowing what your doing

but they will help with cd burning... the most popular pirate tool of all.

why do they assume all dvds are copyrighted
i mean they sell blank dvd media too. what do they expect us to do with it?

what about data back up, and photos ?
