My DVD Shrink keeps freezing during the deep analysis process and it freezes the whole computer, I can't do nothing but reset it.
This has happened on a many different DVDs.
I've been using the same burner and DVD-R media for months now and only yesterday this problem started.
I've read that it could be a heat problem, but my 2 fans inside the PC are working and I've taken both sides off my PC for extra coolness but it's still happening!

Nah, I know how you're feeling mate, it's a bloody nuisance!
I'm thinking of taking it to the PC-Doctors tomorrow so they can fit their best cooling tower and biggest CPU-fan and smear the best heatsink all over it!

Yes, I have it set to burn with Nero but this isn't the problem.
I know now it's definately a heat problem because I just backed-up a DVD and I simply paused the analysis and encoding after every 10-15% done to let it cool for a moment.
Well I havn't changed my fans, I've took the sides off to make it cooler and I havn't touched the CPU, so my only solution I can come up with is that the Thermal Compound has burnt away and I have to top it up.
Can somebody please confirm that this is most likely the problem?
i use DVD Shrink and Nero but it won't let me encode the disc to the hard drive, but only on certain dvd's like Little Man , Click and The Break Up can u tell what I should try
i had same simiar concern about 35% into encoding it would stop. just sit there. cpu 100% usage and shrink was 250,455k.just with 1 movie thou. all others a have been fine so far. i seached (up top) and found some good information concern this and freezing of pc.if i stumble upon it i will post it for you. hope it helps
