Hi just lately I have had a couple of DVD's that I am backing up that gets to about 40% the the DVD Shrink pops up and say "cannot continue out of memory space"
I don't understand whats happening as there is more than enough memory space on my p.c.
Can anyone advise on how to get round this problem?
Many thanks in advance.

Could be that you are out of RAM, not HD space. Don't multitask, close all programs that arent necessary. What is the name of the movie and the error word for word.

Hi thanks for your quick reply, The film is The Fast And Furious Tokyo Drift it also done this with Scrubs Season 4.
The error reads "DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue out of memory not enoughth storage is avalible to process this command"
I am not running any other programs or even broadband, DVD Shrink is the sole program running.
Any ideas?
as far as I know I have plenty of space for this is there a way of finding out?

I have the same problem copying my disks ? apparently the page file usage is used up and stops when it?s full. I had to convert the entire DVD to an ISO image with DVD Decrypter now that Sony came out with that new method of copy protection. I then open that ISO image with DVD Shrink, and try to shrink it to the size of a DVD5?this won?t work (guess why). There should be other software that can shrink a disk from an ISO image to DVD without hassle.

hey i just recently started getting this exact same problem, no matter what i do it keeps filling up my 2 gig of ram and then stopping, usually get around 50%. In task manager you can see the page file usage slowly go up and up and up till it reaches the top then it crashes and the encode fails. My pentium 4 shows the same pattern except it flattens out at the top for while before it crashes as my ram manegement software tries to save the day but fails. Ive been ripping DVD's for ages and never come across this before, its happening on both my computers my pentium 4 with 1 gig ram and like 30 gig free on c drive and also on my pentium d with 2 gig of ram and 150 gig free on c drive. I think it must have been something in the latest round of windows updates, something is making it try store the whole dvd onto the ram instad of dumping it over on the hardrive or whatever they usually do. Maybe i should just get 5 gig of ram..that will probably fix it. haha.
Ive tried it in DVD Shrink same as you, and Nero with AnyDVD on and off, still no success.
im gonna try windows update see if there are some more updates and see if it fixes it, ill let you know how i go.
aside from the main topic.. if you want to encode iso images with other programs, mount them in Daemon Tools then any program just sees it as a dvd and u can go on your mery way. Nero resizes it to fit a d5 or whatever a normal dvd is, so do most programs like CloneDVD, dvd cloner 3 etc..
im a n00b..please just help

I tried using Clone DVD to rip the DVDs I couldn?t with the other pile of software I Googled for but the quality isn?t as good as a DVD through DVD Shrink.
I have managed to increase my ?page file? usage by going through the control panel, selecting system, going to the advanced tab and selecting the settings button under the performance section, then select the advanced tab and increase the amount of virtual memory to the max? then restart.
This has worked on a few ISO images but not all of them.

I had this problem with Running Scared - cracking film, by the way (the recent one, not the old Billy Crystal film) - and used DVDCopy95 Express instead of DVD Shrink. Works the same way: simply open the file and click start. Cost about a tenner but it worked without a hitch after failing four times to get DVD Shrink to encode it. Result is a perfect copy. A lot less hassle than the Vob Blanker way.

My mistake. It's DVD95Copy Express, not DVDCopy95 Express. Happy cloning, you naughty people, you.

Another mistake? Just to be completely literate, it?s Dvd95Copy XPress.

You're right, except when you open the program, then it shows as Express. This is such a sad, pedantic discussion.

Ok. I didn?t go far in researching the software ? I was bored and someone replied. I think this topic is well past its expiration date.
