I assume I am right in thinking that the price will certainly go up for the PS3 on ebay AFTER it's released.
Realistically speaking, how high do you think the price will go, and do you think it will get higher as it gets closer to xmas?

Its all about supply and demand. I have already seen pre-ordered PS3 go for 2000.00+. Plus it depends on how many get shipped between launch day and christmas.
Dont let the door hit you on the way out, beacause I dont want ass prints on my new door!

Quote: There are some prices that are hitting as high as $8,000 and $9,000, although it seems that about 80%% of the PS3 items are selling for around $1,000-$2,000 and shipping ranges from free to $150.
The biggest thing to look out for when shopping on eBay is to read the titles and details carefully. By surfing the pages you will find things such as ?Sony PlayStation 3 PS3 Premium 60GB System Movie? selling for $1,575 or ?Sony PlayStation 3 PS3 60 GB Pre-Sale BUNDLE Sealed!!!? for $70 when all you get is a pre-order form.
Buyer Beware!!!

the ps3 will probably average double its msrp for about a month, i am guessing a load will hit the US jsut in time for xmass but it still wont quench demand, but the price will drop to about 150% msrp. after xmass youll be able to get one in a store no prob, then im guessing around march itll go down to around 400-500 then mid summer itll be 350ish, then in another year to year and a half itll be 250-300, then in another year itll be 200.
the huge wild card is halo 3, if halo three is as much an improvement over halo 2 as halo 2 was over halo 1 then sony might have to more agressivly price its hardware.
anyone remeber shelling out 4 hundo for the psx? damn that thing was expensive.

first i wouldn't test it as many people who buy things online like myself prefer things to be NIB. not to mention the risk factor of falling, dropping, spilling etc...if it were me i would put one up and see what happens. i am not sure how much you are looking to get for your systems, but if you get what you want with the first one, then i'd throw the other one up. now the flipside is if after the first one you didn't get as much as you were hoping for, then i'd think about holding off on putting the 2nd one up for a week or so. just keep monitoring how sales are going and what they are going for. then regardless of the 2 scenarios i stated, i'd hold the 3rd one till around xmas time. at that point i think you might be able to make a good buck. if not worst case scenario your either stuck with one system, or you didn't get as much as you wanted with only one system. its a gamble one way or the other, with no sure route...

The Playstation was $299.99 when it came out in the US in 1995. The Playstation 2 was $299.99 when it came out in 2000. Then there was the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSX_%28DVR%29 which was never released outside Japan.
I remember someone selling the empty box the 360 came in on ebay. I think it went for like $400.00.

Aight so I'll keep them sealed. Than put one on friday night. I bet it goes for 1500 or more. I saw one go for 4000+ today! I love rich people! You can do one day auctions on friday right? Does anybody have the rules for ebay, on after the ps3 has been released?
