I get the following
DVDSHRINK HAS ENCOUNTERED AN ERROR AND CANNOT COMPLETE
Programming error - exception occured
I get this error about 5% into backing up my dvd using Shrink.
Ive restarted, reinstalled the dvd-rom drivers, the IDE controls in DM, and still get the error.
Ive uninstalled and reinstalled DVDShrink and still no good
I was having a horrible DMA issue before hand recently, but I uninstalled the Nero version I had and reinstalled another version of Nero and that seemed to have solved the DMA issue, but now Im getting this error now.
HELP!

Well, guess I should of search a bit before writing this topic.
I found the error topic opened up by FeelDeez and the solutions given.
Ill give this a try and run DVDFab and then Shrink, and see what happens

Glad you found the solution on your own...if you get more errors after reripping you might consider running your VIDEO_TS.IFO through VobBlanker.
Good luck.

Well, I got the same problem, same error.
I used DVDFab to backup the original to the HD.
Then I used Shrink to shrink the VOB files down to size, but encountered the same error

Well, after researching all about this program, really all it does is strip files and cut out access video.
Why use this program, where I can simply just backup the main movie with the edit tool on DVDFab?
I dont see the point in using VobBlanker

Yah I read the thread, and dont understand how that Blanker applicatin works, but thanks anyway. I figured its 1 out of a possible 50 dvd's that Ill come across.
If it spreads, then Ill consider learning the program. You say its easy, but I wouldnt even know where to begin with that Blanker program.
Took me 4 months just to learn Shrink and Fab.

How to use VobBlanker: a no brainer approach.
1. Input Video Manager...browse the the VIDEO_TS.IFO in your VIDEO_TS folder and place it here.
2. Output Folder...create a new folder on your HDD renamed as blanked or something else that will identify this as your new clean movie.
3. Press Process...Done.
4. Continue with DVD Shrink as usual.
Enjoy.

Try changing the unreferenced material to still image. I have seen this happen many times this fixed problem. Usually its the running that hangs program up.

Is this done in Shrink or the Blanker program? How would I do this?
And thank you so much for the directions above! Appreciate the help.

Did you insert the still image in the unreferenced materials or the main movie? When you insert a still image you are removing the video.
