Hi edstang45
Since this one has nothing special on it - copy protection wise - sounds like the disc is dirty, smudged, scratched etc.
Try cleaning the disc off w/ something non abrasive.

You can use decrypter on this one - imho it's the best one to handle these 'bad' discs. Just rip w/ decrypter than open the files in Shrink to compress.

Ok Binkie thanks I will try that. I downloaded DVDFABDecrypter and had same problem. I didn't think about your solution so I will try that. I rarely find a dvd that dvdshrink doesn't work on. and now maybe i can be 100% again thanks

i had the same problem with my first DVD burner. i had to throw mine away. i think that it is the laser eye or something internally with the burner. Sorry

Yesterday, the 19th, first time user here, downloaded shrink. Used it for the first time to copy to hard drive The Aviator at 60 percent.
Used Sonic RcordNow to record Data on a DVD RW. Beautiful copy.

@edstang45
If that doesn't work than try another drive if you have one - some are better than others at ripping the 'bad' spots. If that fails well time for an exchange if you can.

@creinke26
Could be the laser - at some point they start to go just like everything else :)

@Angel65
Good deal!

No it's one I backed up awhile ago - plus pulled out the original last night and let AnyDVD tell me what copy protection it had on it.
Only CSS which Shrink easily handles.

I started my own list recently though - instead of trying to find the originals :)

@edstang45
It still might play - players are more forgiving then trying to rip.

Yep now you have DVDFab Decrypter for the movies Shrink can't handle by it's lonesome since it hasn't been updated in a long while.

@born2ride
AnyDVD is the only one that I know of that shows all the copy protection and media info on the disc. I have the free ones too but none show the info like AnyDVD.
