hey i was wondering if its possible to backup a whole ps3 game onto its 20gig hard drive or back it up onto the 300gb usb hard drive i have, are there any ELFs that can load the games? or is this in the introductory phase and nobody has done it yet? cause i have bought resistance and i wanted a way to backup the game

There is a way to backup your games when you using fedora core 5 on your ps3.
But there is no program that can load the backups.

do u think there will be a program created to load these backups? like hdloadar? how long do u think it will take for this prgram to be created?

who knows how long i mean i thought nobody was talking on how to hack ps3 and all sudden this news poofs here and look a week after and the first back up ever .... it took 360 4 months to figure out someting..... so nobodoy knows

biggest hurdle in the ps3 hacking game:

a blue ray ps3 game is going to be 20-40 gigs.

so how many 20 gig blue ray games are you going to be able to fit on your 20 gig hd along with all the crap to load it? how about the 60 gig? everyone is going to have to rock half terrabytes of mem on their ps3s if this is going to work this way.

so we might have to wait till blue ray burners become economical. fat chance, sony owns the standard. why do you think they made the standard up in the first place? it was so they could throw a blanket over the money-burning fire that was ps2 bootlegging.

it will happen eventualy, most likey the hd thing will be the cheapest way and it will come out earlier. hard drives are getting cheaper by the day, i think you can get a 100gig external for like 40 bucks or soemthing so a half TB or full TB in every ps3 for backup purposes isnt exactly out of the question a year from now.

im sure sony got wise about online authenticiy checks too. thats also going to be a huge problem.
