I was told that sony could confiscate any PS3 if used ilegally such as running homebrew, pirated content, etc. Can anyone confirm this is in the license agreement(or any documentation)?
EDIT- changed talk to told *rolls eyes*

That thread is funny but im not all paranoid. I just want to make sure that sony isnt pulling a load of **** because it would suck to get one and find out that they have some crap primitive script in it that will send off a false signal to mommy(sony) and say im doing bad stuff(even if im not) then I lose some $600 consle that the company had no right to take.

I don't see how Sony could. Once you buy an item it is yours to do what you want with. I can see it voiding a warranty or something, but they can't take it from you.

Sony wont find out and if they do I doubt they will go to your house and take it away.

Sony could never find out were you live, plus even if they did they cant come inside of your house (unless they have a warrent highly unlickly) so just say get lost.

Im thinking of so many legal methods they could get it back without compensation but I doubt they'll do any.

But they could work something into the license agreement stating that in the event that it is used in acts of piracy, modifications, etc, the owner would have to return the consle to sony or pay a fee of $600. But that would be a load of **** because its would get on the news and sony would lose ALOT of customers and therefore, revenue.

Did you happen to get this idea by the rumors of them saying that they won't allow pre-owned games to be sold because they are just leasing the rights to play the game to you ? lol be serious bro just think of how many people will own a PS3 in a mater of years just like the PS2, sony has money but they are too greedy to pay authorities and workers to go to EVERYONES house and ask them to hand back something YOU paid for, the worst they can do is like microsoft with the 360 and just block your console from being used online, i don't see how they could detect a chip with your address or anything without being online.
Bottom line is they didn't do it with the PS2, PSP & They don't do much to stop their music from being bootlegged it would take millions, maybe billions of dollars to create chips to detect all this and track us down 1 by 1 then have us arrested, Microsoft is a multi-billion dollar company with a huge amount of technology if they can't do it then sony definitely can't do it.
