i have heard that if you buy a ps3 game it can only be used in the ps3 console that it was started on? is this true or rumor? i see that blockbuster is renting them so i assume that its not.

sounds crazy, hopefully its not true!!!!

That was an old rumor....sony was going to do that to cut down on resale of games but they changed that a few month before the release, although you need to have a USB thumb drive or something like that to copy your game saves from console to console. Plus each game loads like 160mb of data so when your done with the game you need to delete that (to free up space).

thank you so much for the info. i was hopeing that they changed their minds. if that was the case there would have been NO ps3 in this house.

usb thumb drives are now getting really cheap.

i just bought a 2 gig on buy . com for 6.95, so now i am really glad i did buy them......

If they would have done that it would have nixed the market for renting games. If they kill that market they would lose quite a bit of money. I can't believe they even thought of it in the first place.

If they would have went throgh with it they would have just got hackers all around the world twice as mad and people would probably be working twice as hard on getting backups to word via hardrive just to screw them over and play what they want for free :P
