OMG is this a brick? I might be really sorry to say but if u can't figure anything out i would return it to the store you got it from asap and buy one when there out again.

If you don't know what brick means. It's a corupt motherboard that has nothing to run it because when it was updating and was cancelled whats there gonna be if it was writing over the old motherboard? Your PS3 might be done I am sorry to say.

Not to rubb it in but the size of a psp is a brick. So when it's dead it's just as useless as a brick. Now if the ps3 is dead it should be called a cinder block. Because once it is dead it's no more useless then a cinder block.

In fact I think we would be fooling our selves if we have a community this large, and did not realize that there are some enemies present.

Did you call sony yet??? That should be the first thing you do, not ask in a forum...we don't work for sony so no one can give you the answer that they will. Sony mite have a reserve stock for malfunctioning units. But yeah like Sniper said it sounds like you bricked it or cinder blocked it.

Well i repeated a post because if no one looked at this it could be a first case of a bricking. It would bring it to the attention of others but w/e.

Call Sony and say that you "bricked" your PS3. Say exactly this. They will understand.

No not that you brick it but that in the middle of an update the system turned it self on standby and now will not load to the XMB.
