I bought my son a cell phone for Christmas, Samsung t609 to be exact, with a 1 GB Micro SD Memory Card. Its video player supports 3GP. He loves music videos, is there anything special I need to do to load and play these files on his new cell phone? Or, how about loading movies burned with DVD Shrink?

I really don't know if DVD Shrink can do the conversion,maybe it can compress DVD movie to small size.If you want to convert video files to .3GPor MP4,maybe you can find a video converter which can do that.If you like you can try WinAVI iPod/3GP/MP4/PSP Video Converter.

Thanks, I am prepared to expend some trial and error time on this process, do most cell phones play mpeg video files?

Nero Recode (Nero Digital) can convert any already ripped VIDEO_TS (backups) from your hard drive to MP4 or MPEG-4 flawlessly. I've done it many times in the past for my IPOD and the quality is awesome.
