Well, i just received the stand today and it is black. Plus it has blue led's that draw power from the usb port in front of the PS3, it's a very nice stand for the money..

that does look pretty nice, but personal preference for me is to have the ps3 lay horizontal. still looks good though...
how do the leds look when the room is dark?

I know what you mean, the only reason i have mine vertical is because i have no room in my entertainment center. Also, i have yet to see the stand in the dark, i'll post some nightshots later on..

I would have my 360 vertical wich I do and when I get my PS3 I would have it horizontal!

i'm going to hardmod in som blue led's that will draw power from the inside of the system, probably tapping into the usb2 power line. then my whole console will glow a lustrous blue hue.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

Thanks Damon, hey can you post a link for that cooling station? Have you experienced any overheating problems with your PS3 yet, so far i haven't had any problems. KNOCK ON WOOD!!!

i know the videos, but a step by step guide would be best for optimum assurance that i'll do it right.
but thanks for the videos, they are helping me figure our where i should install the leds. but im accually thinking of using cold cathode tubes.

No i havent had any problem with overheating because i put my system in a very large open space. But it does put out some very hot heat.

think of it this way, be glad that heat is getting out. it gets a bit warm under my bedroom tv cart, but thats never too much and not even close to the other electronics in my house. sony knew what they were doing with the ps3 when it comes to hardware. they would not have planned for spring if they did not have working modles back then, that is aot of test time on all the componants involved and the lines that assemble them.
