DVD Shrink error. the file area on the left is small and blinking.!!

when i open DVD Shrink the area on the left where the movie files you want to copy go is made small by the preview window being expanded up as high as it will go leaving just a small scroll bar,left to right and it just blinks and twitches, i can't bring down any menus or do anything at all with the program. i haveto cntrl alt delete to close it.
i have deleted it and re downloaded it and reinstalled it but nothing works. does anyone recognize this issue. other than this one problem DVD Shrink has worked great for me for years. the only thing i have done differently lately is install the latest version of AnyDVD.

Set your cursor on the separating bar, when it becomes a 2 headed arrow, resize the box.

that was the first thing i tried to do which usually works, but all that spot does is blink and my cursor doesn't work with anything in the program at all. i don't get the double arrow anywhere it's like something has gotten in and is making sure the program does not work, and the only way to close it is to hit the cntrl alt delete and close program. it's the only program on my computer that is acting up, it's very weird, i ran cclean spyware programs ect...
any other sudgestions would be great and i appreciate the help very much.
