DVD Shrink Error Message

On both of my DVD drives, DVD Shrink gets to 92% analysis and then stops and gives me an error message "DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Failed to read file 'X:\', Incorrect function".
I removed my existing program and reloaded and still get the error message.

Does this happen for all dvd's that you do or just this one?

Give RipIt4Me a try. May just be a copy protection problem since Shrink is no longer updated.

Recently, all of them, although I haven't tried to a copy a commercial DVD for many months.

a) This is a known issue between some backup softwares (including DVD Shrink) and DVDs recorded on a set-top.
b) Bad IDE cables. Credit: Maynard
c) If you can't read with your reader/burner and you have the problem with all DVDs - try to reinstall it. Kill the device in Windows and restart the PC. Credit: psi2244

Just to add to bornride's post
Since your not doing 'commerical' dvd's if these have no copy protection do a disc to disc copy with Nero.

See if you're able to do that.

Thanks very much. It turned out that the DVD was flawed, even though I *bleep* it yesterday and it was the first day the video store had gotten it in. I got a new copy today and DVD Shrink worked great.
