hi i live in the u.k and i have just bought a u.s ps3

now i have heard alot of ppl talkin about bricking

i know what this means but i cant understand how it happens or how to avoid it, and because my ps3 is from america im pretty keen on this not happening because i wont be able to get it fixed and im worried about doing the updates.

so can some1 tell me how i can definately avoid this, also will i be able to connect to the ps3 network considering the machine is u.s and i live in the u.k

im from the US so i don't have to worry about the network connection woes. anyway the best advice i could probably give you is to NOT TURN OFF THE SYSTEM WHILE UPDATING. i think that is where people have run into problems. there is even a prompt that tells the user not to do so, but some just hit the power button, or power goes out. either way not a happy place to be in...

if you want to be paranoid about it, you can get a power supply backup that will let your system continue to run for however long the one you buy says so.

But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

Here is a download link if you want to do it via a memory stick of some sort.

Anubis' suggestion is really the only other thing you could do.

yeah, my plan is to accually brick my system when ps3 quantities are higher before my warrenty is over, so i get a new unscuffed ps3 with bugs worked out. you know that translucent plastic over the ps3 when you open it? well if its put on backwards with the little soft squars pointed at the ps3, it will make th eshine go away where its rubbed. both sides feel almost identical so i didnt know, and i wrapped it for travel. when i got to my destination, i saw scuffing where the cardboard hold the ps3 in place because all the pressure rubbing the plastic into my ps3. :( you think thats a warrenty violation? because it was sony's wrongful plastic that effed up my ps3. its not noticable unless you look at the ps3 for more than a second, but it blows.

i just git it a mini fan near it to circulate in cool air to ensure it lasts.
