Ok, I was thinking and i thought that its a fact that PS3 runs Linux and from what i heard there is a linux version of Visual Boy Advance and also ZSNES and since the PS3 has Online access maybe just download the linux version of the emulators and just dump the roms in the ps3 as if transferring anything else

Would this work?

Hmm.. I'm not sure if it will void any warranty..
yellowdog seems to be the best option, but I'm not getting any further involved.

Are they supporting it? All I could find was some references to a press conference a few weeks ago. nothing more "official" than that...
There's been far too much BS and speculation about this console.. If it's that f***in great why do people want to run emulators and old games on it? Linux games really aren't in general worth the effort of installing. It seems to me that any "supported" linux, when (if) it comes will be neutered by sony and only allow limited functionality.. They don't want to let you copy cd's..why should they make it easy to pirate games too?
