hey guys.. Im having a problem. I usually use DVD Decrypter and then DVD Shrink to backup movies. But for some reason DVD Decrypter is not reading the disc. It will get hung up on a file and retry a bunch of times and still wont get it. I thought the first couple of times that it was just because the disc was dirty so I tried another movie but its still doing the samething. Is there anyway I can just skip that file because after that file everything reads perfectly. Or is there another solution?

Obviously you are doing a movie that plain old DVD Decrypter cannot handle the protection on, because of lack of updates. Download DVD Fab Decrypter and use that to rip and then proceed with DVD Shrink. If you still have a problem in Shrink then download VobBlanker and run that to remove any other protection.

I agree with Arniebear, it sounds like you've run into some of the newer copy protection Decrypter isn't updated to handle. I'd just like to add that you already have 2 of the better programs for doing backups. That is if you have the last versions. That's 3.5.4.0 for Decrypter and 3.2.0.15 for Shrink. You can add RipIt4Me, http://www.ripit4me.org to get the RipIt4Me with FixVTS (both in the installer). Once set up, you can use the one click feature and it does the backups for you. It uses the DVD Decrypter and adds PSL files for decrypting the newer DVD videos and automatically repairs the rips with FixVTS. Then it turns on Shrink for you. Just another way of doing things. I mentioned it because you're already familiar with Decrypter and Shrink. Arniebears suggestions work too. Like they say, more than one way to skin a cat. (Sure the cat doesn't like it either way.)
