Emulator on PS3 with Linux for playing PS2 images

I want to know if there is an emulator for Linux (namely Yellow Dog) that can be used on the PS3 that you can play backup PS2 images.

I have a 60gb PS3 and will be installing Yellow Dog. I would love to be able to play my backup PS2 games on the PS3 buy running an emulator on the Linux OS. It seems to me that the only way to be able to play any backup for any PS system without a mod chip will be by emulation on the alternate OS.

I am sure I'm not the first to think of this and imagine one is either already available or in the works.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Don't bother PS2 emulators are not developed yet and you wont get much from a PS3 either.

Get yourself a PS2 w/ modchip.

As powerful as the PS3 is don't expect gaming with the currently used generic framebuffer driver... and don't even expect the RSX driver to be released either, it would be suicide for Sony.
