shrink not working with my new desktop??

i have used shrink and AnyDVD combo sucessfully for a while now on my old sony computer.
i recently bought a gateway gt5228 desktop,and now shrink will not work with AnyDVD.anydvd is running in the background(details show its doing what its supposed to) as always but when i try to burn with shrink i get a error,dvd is copy protected.
is there some internal countermeasures manufacturers are putting in the new computers that cause this,could it be a incompatibility issue,or is the shrink download corrupt.
i should mention i did downlaod a trial CloneDVD,and it works fine,unless i open shrink and try it.then clone gives me the smae error and i have to restart the computer.
this is the second gateway i have tried,the first did the same thing.this really has me baffled,any help appreciated.

i would try uninstalling and doing a clean reinstall (run CCleaner do a disc cleanup and even defrag) reboot and reinstall.

can you use the ripper in AnyDVD then transcode with DVD Shrink? try that.

is your still having problems you have an conflit somewhere. is there any burning programs that are preloaded on the gateway?
