well it depends on the model PS2
If you have a fat one you need to have a network adapter that comes with a PS2. Then you can either buy a crossover cable and run it into the router. Or buy a wireless gaming adapter if your router is wireless and you want a wireless connection.
A slimline is the same except you do not need te network adapter, the ethernet port is built in.

and yes, you can use a USB external hard drive. But you need to get a disc called USB Extreme in order to run it unless of course your PS2 is modded with a DMS4 Pro modchip.

and on a side note there is a program out there that you put on the
PC called Xlink Kai which has a few PS2 compatible games if you want to check it out. And also an online gaming program that is pretty new called Leaf Networks that you can set up gaming online with any of your friends who get it.

I have the fat version with the 8 screws(Version must be <=8 && >=4).
At the back there's a slot for the network adapter.

Cool , i thought i had to get something special or some kind of extension.
So thats all i need : a network adaptor , one external hdd(i already have) , and a utp cable(i already have one..).

I have nothing yet(modchip etc).
I've ordered a flip-top cover & swap magic disks and i'll have them in the next few days

Can i use swap magic & then a backup of that program or it isnt possible?

And something that i always i wanted to ask:
What's the name of the package that allows you to create programs under ps2?
It also includes a keyboard & a mouse?
Thanks again.
