I have used shrink to backup all my movies so my 2 kids do not hurt the originals.

my question is, is ripit4me as good as shrink thats it

ripit4me is a utility for ripping the dvd to your hdd. It doesn't do any transcoding or encoding (compressing).

RipIt4Me frequently gets updates so it can handle anything out there (even new released). All I ever used are either DVDFab Decrypter or RipIt4Me (both FREE) and so far they both worked flawlessly.
