Hi Keith,
I am using a evocamd emulator and a neutrino image.
The reception is very good but not as clear as using NT* box.
I can send you the files if you need them.

Hi guys. Howdy doo. New here but was wondering if u could help me out with this. I bought a Dreambox 500-C with UK image from Englans. Did everything as instructed and got 142 channels. But I believe up to 180 ish can be received using a diff image file. Ive downloaded this file but what do I do now? How I get this file from my pc to Dreambox and is it complicated to do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Baz,
The easiest way is to get a null modem cable and a program called dreamup. Its fairly straight forward after that, give me a shout if you have any problems. Can I ask what image you used?

Hi Sham. Thanks for the advice. Sorry took so long to reply - been away. Yea I did that with a comport cable and Dreamup. I erased then tried to flash new image to box, but image file too big. So just flashed old image back and stayed with that one. It'll do for now. But im having a bigger prob with another Dreambox. I got this direct from supplier and tried to scan, but its just totally frozen. Remote doesnt even register with box. Erased and reflashed a few times and Dreapup says everything done ok blah blah, but still same result. So I guess its just a faulty box and I have to send back. Ah well...

Sorry to hear that.
I had a similar problem when i first got mine.
I used a blank image to clear it and then used dreamup to flash another image on to it. I also noticed that recently the boxes have different tuners. The first one I got I flashed neutrino onto but when I put that on the second box it didnt work , I needed to put a different image (gemini 3.30.) onto it to accomodate the tuner. This might help you out, it is quite rare that a box is faulty but not impossible.

Hi Sham,
Thanks for that. But Im just wondering where u got the blank image? If I can get my hand on it I'll give it a go. The first image I tried that was too big was Sportster. The normal one I use is DIORJ - either 0.3 or 0.6. Both work fine. So if u can tell me where I give it a go later and let u know.

I have it on my machine, I will try and find the site I got it from and PM you , I also have another image that should work for you.
I had the same problem with the sportster, too big.
Will let you know as soon as I find something.

A sportster image is for a dbox2 and not for a dreambox.

I know people that have sportster on their dreamboxes just not the 500c model as the memory is not large enough!

Hi guys,
Does anyone know where I can get an image for Dreambox 500-C for the Chorus network. Sportster is too big. Images I have already are no good for Chorus. So any help be great. Thanks guys

A sportster image is for a dbox2 and not for a dreambox.
If you want a enigma based image try a UK Gemini or a DW dream uk image.
I you want a neutrino based image try a neutrino dream plus ultra.
Chorus mmds is not functional with a 500c box.

Thanks mgb17 for that but Im still a little confused. Are u saying those other images will work on Dreambox with Chourus? Or does the dreambox 500C not support Chorus network at all? By the way its cable Chorus not satellite.

You can get chorus via mmds or true cable.
If you have a mmds aerial on the roof its mmds. You can get a mmds signal also via a central mmds mast around the corner.
You should know which signal you get.
A 500c box is only functional with true cable from chorus or with a NTL signal.

Thanks mgb17. Yea its a true cable signal from Chorus. So can you recommend any images that will work with my Dreambox? Ive tried diorj 0.3 and 0.6 but neither pick up any stations. So obviously I need a diff image. But where to get one that works... Any help please..

Hey Baz,
Thanks for getting back to me m8. I wasn't able to get any lock or sync and was getting message transponder not found. This issue has now been resolved as I've flashed with a valid image.
