DVD Shrink just shuts down

I am new to DVD Shrink. i can open a dvd just fine and all the information seems to come thru. when i go to press the backup button, shrink seems to freeze then after 30 seconds it just shuts down. tried on a different computer and different dvd and same result.

Any advice?

That sometimes is caused by Shrink being unable to fully decrypt the movie. What ripper are you using prior to using Shrink. If you are not using one then use Ripit4Me.

If it still cuts off after using a different ripper then you have a problem w/ your system.

could there be some program in my computer (such as antivirus) that would cause shrink to turn off? would windows have some way of protecting the copying of dvds?

Try ripping the DVD to the HD using the new ripper. Post back those results

i downloaded DVD encrypter. now when i press the back up button i can get the back up screen and instead of using Nero to burn i use encrypter. for some reason when i have Nero as the burner it freezes up.

As long as you get the burn then all is OK. For Nero I would just uninstall it and use Nero Cleantools and clean out what ever fragments the uninstall leaves. Then I would re-boot the computer and if you want to re-install Nero. Remember to keep you serial number copied somewhere as you will have to enter it again

This Happened to me This fixed my problem.

Go to EDIT to Preferances.

Then to the File I/O Tab.
Then Uncheck the Enable Burning with Nero.

That should help the problem.

Edit: Reread question and what I said was not pertinent.

When is Shrink freezing up? At the moment you click back up or when Shrink finisihes encoding and now needs to burn the file with Nero?

Top post says right after pushing backup. 3 posts up is when Nero wants to burn. Which is it. What version of Nero are you using?

Out of curiosity what model PC do you have and what are the System specs; i.e. CPU, RAM, HDD (size and freespace), OS?
