Basically i am gettin a JAP PS3, i am located in the uk.
My UK TV (PAL) plays region 1 dvds which is NTSC ok. So am i right in saying that the ps3 should play on my tv ok with no problems?
Also am i right in saying that games are multiregion and you can play any ps3 games on any spec consol as long as your tv plays PAL and NTSC ok?
I know the jap region code is region 2, so uk dvds etc will play ok as long as the tv can play PAL and NTSC?

Your PS3 will play on your TV without any problems.
PS3 games are multiregional and you can play them on any PS3.
Jap DVD region code is region 2, unfortunately the PS3 will not play UK DVD's or even region free PAL DVD's as it does not support the PAL broadcast standard! The only movies you'll be able to watch on your PS3 are Jap region 2 & NTSC region free DVD's!
Blu-Ray movies are region A. Japan and North America.
dont wana blow it up you see. but it's been standing in my room for a couple of days as i blew my step down converter lol!! hopefully get a new 1 tomorrow
can this be confirmed about using 240v on a ps3 without stepdown transformer?
