Hello i heard that the PS3 will have achievements like the xbox 360 but under a different name is this true.

Well achievements are goals in different games that you accomplish to earn points. You don't get anything from the points except to just show off. But on 360 there is a list of goals you can view when you save and play a game and when you achieve a goal it pops up on the bottom of the screen and says "achievement unlocked". An example of an achievemt would be like beating the game under easy, or participating in 50 online matches.

well i have an xbox 360 and the ps3 and the ps3 does not have achievements. i dont really like that feature anyways. theres no use for it and its just gets in my way when i play games. but the ps3 doesnt have acheivements

I could be wrong but I noticed that nhl2k did have achievements (online or offline), now they don't display like the 360 does but your gamerscore does rise after completing certain things as well as madden, but don't know about other games.

i'd rather not have achievements. it make people become a$$holes and be all up in themselves. those records should always be personal.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

well in certain game there are like resistance u can get like metals for like playing 100 ranked games and winning like 30 u would get a metal or like when u rank up 2 certain lvls during online u get newer skins also there are badges. but i think this depends on the game. if this is what u mean.

Well kind of, I was thinking more along the lines of keeping track of all of those things on the PS3 dashboard like the 360 does.
